The School of Materials hosted the 225th anniversary Symposium of Physics Yearbook

On October 19, the 225th anniversary Symposium of Physics Yearbook, sponsored by Wiley Publishing House and hosted by the School of Materials, Beijing Institute of Technology, was held in Zhongguancun Campus。The symposium aims to review the development of physics and look forward to innovative developments in emerging fields such as quantum technology, smart materials, advanced thermal management, and new energy。

At the opening ceremony, Professor Chen Pengwan, Dean of the School of Materials, Beijing Institute of Technology, and Wang Huan, editor of Wiley Journal, delivered speeches respectively。Chen Pengwan reviewed the contribution of the Annals of Physics in the global physics community, and said that physics and materials science, integrated circuits and other disciplines have promoted the development of research in the field, and hoped that the conference will serve as an inspiration for future scientific research。Wang Huan said that the Annals of Physics will continue to provide the most cutting-edge academic platform for physicists around the world。

Stefan Hildebrandt, editor in chief of Wiley Press, introduces the history of the Annals of Physics and its influence on the physics community。He said that as an important record of physics research and innovation achievements, the Annals of Physics has witnessed the continuous progress of science and the evolution of academic thought。He also introduced other journals from Wiley Press, encouraging participants to contribute actively in areas such as materials science, energy research, and nanotechnology。

In the academic report session, 10 scholars from Tsinghua University, Peking University, Beijing Normal University, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Tianjin University of Technology, Beijing Institute of Technology and other universities shared their latest research results。The report covers many fields from basic theory to practical application, and shows the innovative development of multiple disciplines such as physics, materials science, and integrated circuits。

This conference promoted the in-depth exchanges in the field of physics and materials science, and provided a broad platform for young scholars。In the future, the School of Materials of Beijing Institute of Technology will hold more academic discussion activities to promote the deep integration of education, science and technology and talent training, and cultivate more high-quality talents with innovative spirit and practical ability。
